Our Story

A tiny home bakery
with a friendly haunt.

The Kneady Ghost is a small, home-based micro bakery specializing in handmade sourdough bread and other baked goods. Along with classic and creative flavored sourdough, I bake treats such as cinnamon rolls, banana bread and other rotating bakery items.

My menu keeps growing and changing with new flavors and seasonal creations. I sell locally through direct orders and community markets, with a focus on handcrafted, small-batch baking — and a fun, slightly spooky personality.

Mariah Flynn

“The Kneady Ghost may be small, but every order gets a whole lot of care.”

Hi, I’m Mariah! I started baking sourdough as a hobby and quickly fell in love with the whole process — experimenting with new flavors, and sharing the finished loaves with other people. What started in my small kitchen grew into a little micro bakery I am incredibly proud of.

I’m a wife, mom of three and full-time working mom, so this is truly a passion project built around everyday life. I love creating new flavors, trying new baked goods, and seeing people genuinely enjoy something I made by hand.

My goal is to make delicious, small-batch baked goods that feel homemade in the best possible way — with a little fun and personality along for the ride (and probably a little flour all over my kitchen).

Collect your order in the Central Park area of Denver, or choose local delivery within 5 miles for a small fee.

04

Keep it fresh

Store your bread in its reusable bag, or freeze it whole or sliced. Toast from frozen, or warm a thawed loaf briefly for a crisp crust.

FAQ

Questions, answered

You can place an order up to six months in advance! Because everything is made fresh to order in my home bakery, I ask for at least 32 hours’ notice for most orders. Custom or larger orders may require additional time.

Orders are available for local pickup in the Central Park area of Denver. For larger orders, I may be able to arrange a convenient meeting location for a small fee. Please contact me for details.

I offer local delivery within a 5-mile radius for a small fee. Because my baked goods are made fresh and without preservatives, I do not currently ship them. My shelf-stable sourdough pancake mix can be shipped.

I accept cash, PayPal, Venmo, Zelle, and Tap to Pay.

My core sourdough flavors include Original, Garlic Parmesan, Jalapeño Cheddar, and Sun-Dried Tomato & Feta. I also regularly offer seasonal flavors, limited creations, and opportunities to create your own flavor. The menu is always evolving!

Absolutely! I’m happy to consider custom orders and special requests. These may require a little extra planning or baking time, so please reach out as far in advance as possible. If you have an idea, ask — I love trying new things!

Fresh sourdough contains no preservatives, so proper storage helps keep it at its best. Keep your bread in the reusable bag it comes in and close it securely between uses. If the original bag is damaged, transfer the bread to another closed food-safe bag or container.

Yes! Sourdough freezes very well. For best results, you can freeze the loaf whole or slice it first so you can remove only what you need. Wrap it well or place it in a freezer-safe bag, removing as much excess air as possible. When you’re ready to enjoy it, thaw a whole loaf at room temperature or toast individual slices straight from frozen. For an extra-fresh crust, a thawed loaf can be warmed briefly in the oven.

I do not currently offer gluten-free products.

I regularly attend local markets and events! Upcoming market dates and locations are posted on The Kneady Ghost Facebook page, so follow along to see where I’ll be next.

I would love to bake for your party or event! Reach out with what you have in mind, your event date, and approximately how many people you’re serving, and we can come up with a plan together.

Part of the fun of being a small-batch micro bakery is getting to be creative! My menu changes with the seasons, ingredient availability, customer requests — and sometimes simply because I want to try something new and fun. You’ll always find some familiar favorites alongside new creations.

My basic sourdough recipe contains wheat flour, water, and salt, with additional ingredients and allergens depending on the flavor or inclusions. Individual product ingredients will be listed whenever possible. All products are prepared in a home kitchen where common allergens are present, so I cannot guarantee that any product is free from cross-contact with allergens. If you have a food allergy or specific dietary concern, please contact me before ordering so we can discuss the ingredients used.
